About Courtney F

Courtney studied Health and Social Care at the college and then went on to De Montford University to study midwifery.

We asked about her time at university and she told us, “In terms of a highlight of my course, delivering a baby for the first time and being involved in the care of women antenatally, during the intrapartum period and postnatally; it’s a privilege.”

“The greatest challenge I’ve faced is managing the workload. But my time at College helped me, as I have a such a broad knowledge of a variety of different things that have been useful. For example safeguarding, equality and diversity, effective communication, etc. I’ve been able to refer back to what I learnt at college and apply it both practically and in my written work.

What would be your words of advice to others hoping to go to university? “It’s tough, and you’ve got to put the work in. Try and manage your time wisely, and remember to have a social life too!”
